Privacy Policy

Vaxnext is a family vaccination tracker that runs on your device. Your health information (profiles, vaccines, dose dates) stays on your phone: there is no account and no server of ours, and it never leaves your phone unless you export it yourself. The app is free and supported by non-personalized ads served by Google AdMob, which processes a device advertising identifier and basic device data — never your health records. This is explained below.
1. Who we are
Vaxnext is published by SMARTNESS HOME, a French simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with share capital of €8,000, registered office at 5 rue Agrippa d’Aubigné, 91090 Lisses, France, registered with the Evry Trade and Companies Register under number 829 550 185.
Questions about privacy: our contact e-mail is given in the Legal Notice.
2. The short version
Your health data — family profiles, vaccines and dose dates — stays in the app’s private storage on your device. Vaxnext has no user account and sends none of it to any server of ours, and we never sell it or share it with advertisers.
To keep the app free, Vaxnext shows non-personalized ads through Google AdMob. AdMob processes a device advertising identifier and basic device/usage data to serve those ads and prevent fraud, plus diagnostic data about the ad SDK itself. That is the only data collection in the app, and it never includes your vaccination records.
3. What stays on your device
Family profiles (first name, date of birth, sex), the vaccines and dose dates you record, and your app preferences are stored only on your phone, in the app’s private storage. We have no technical means of accessing them.
Uninstalling the app deletes this data. On iPhone, an iCloud backup may keep an encrypted copy inside your own Apple account, under Apple’s responsibility and not ours; you can exclude Vaxnext or turn the backup off in your iPhone settings. On Android, the app tells the system not to include its data in the automatic backup to your Google account, so no copy is kept there.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Vaxnext is free and shows ads to support it. Ads are served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). To display and cap ads and to prevent fraud, AdMob processes a device advertising identifier (Apple IDFA / Android Advertising ID), your approximate location derived from your IP address, technical device information and ad-interaction events. Google acts as an independent data controller for this processing; see Google’s Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and how Google uses data from apps that use its services (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
We request non-personalized ads only: the advertising identifier is not used to build a cross-app advertising profile, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown on iOS. Vaxnext embeds no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK of our own. The Google Mobile Ads SDK does send Google diagnostic and crash information about the SDK itself, together with basic performance data; we never receive it, and it never contains your health data. That is the “diagnostics” category our store listings declare.
Your health data is never sent to AdMob, never sold and never shared with advertisers — the ad SDK cannot read your vaccination records. Ads appear as a banner on the family list and the travel screen, and occasionally as one full-screen ad between two neutral screens — never on a vaccination record, and never more than once every three minutes. Vaxnext is distributed in the United States only. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads; iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).
5. Purchases
Vaxnext is free and makes no in-app purchase, so no payment or billing data is involved. The app carries no billing library at all. If a paid plan is added later, it would be purchased and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) — they would handle payment, and we would never receive your card number or billing address.
6. When your health data leaves your device
Apart from the advertising data described in §4, the only way your health data leaves your phone is if you use “Export my data”, which builds a JSON file and hands it to the share sheet. You choose where it goes. We never receive it, and it is never sent to AdMob.
7. Children’s profiles and COPPA
Vaxnext is for adults managing their family’s vaccinations. Profiles for children are created and managed by a parent or guardian, who remains responsible for the data entered. The app is not intended for direct use by minors and offers no social features.
Vaxnext is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child, as those terms are used in the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). A child’s first name, date of birth and dose dates exist only as entries a parent types on their own phone: they stay in the app’s private storage, are never sent to us, and are never shared with advertisers.
If you believe a child has used Vaxnext on their own and entered information, a parent or guardian can remove all of it at once with Settings → Privacy → Delete all my local data, or by uninstalling the app. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Questions: write to the contact e-mail in the Legal Notice.
8. Your rights
Because everything is on your device, you are always in control. Portability: Settings → Privacy → Export my data (a readable JSON file). Erasure: Settings → Privacy → Delete all my local data, or simply uninstall the app.
Vaxnext is distributed in the United States only. Several states — California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and Virginia among them — give their residents rights over the personal information a business holds about them: to know what it is, to obtain a copy, to correct it, to have it deleted, and not to be treated differently for asking. We hold nothing about you that such a request could reach: your records never leave your phone, so you exercise those same rights yourself, on the device, with the two settings above.
We do not sell your personal information and we hand it to no data broker. We ask Google for non-personalized ads only, so the advertising identifier is not used to build a cross-app advertising profile — §4 explains what Google holds for those ads, how to reset that identifier and how to reach Google, who is the independent controller of it.
If you have any question about this policy, or want written confirmation that we hold nothing about you, write to the contact e-mail given in the Legal Notice and we will answer. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may contact the attorney general of your state.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Any material change will be indicated in the app before it takes effect. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page.
